After the initial idea in 2005, bassist John "Bugsy" Maloney and drummer Cozy Dixon began the long search to find the right trio of like-minded musicians and Blondie fans.

The guys were finally joined by singer Gloria Glover, Rod Iliffe on keyboards and Howard Smith on guitars, to begin the gruelling schedule of rehearsals to get things right for the band's first warm-up dates in December 2006.

2007 and 2008 saw the band get right inside the music and spirit of Blondie at every one of their rapturously received gigs. There was a bit of a musical upheaval after departure of Rod in November 2008 but fortunately multi-instrumentalist Jack Stow saved the day and performed his first gigs with Parallel Blondie in January 2009.
